Sand Point and Stop 26 should be one of Ward 7’s greatest waterfront assets.
Instead, residents have been left with fencing, restricted access, poor maintenance and a park that no longer feels welcoming.
Safety must come first. The tragedies at Sand Point cannot be ignored, and the fencing cannot come down until the shoreline is made safe.
That is why my plan starts with one clear priority:
Build the breakwall and complete the shoreline protection work.
Once that work is complete, the fences can come down and the larger vision for Sand Point and Stop 26 can move forward.
We Already Have a Plan
The City has completed a Master Plan for Sand Point and Council has endorsed moving the project forward.
It includes an accessible playground, splash pad, improved access, recreational amenities and waterfront improvements. Some funding has already been committed.
Now the priority is to secure the additional funding needed to complete the shoreline work and accelerate the rest of the redevelopment.. While some funding has been committed, the major capital funding for the broader redevelopment is not currently scheduled until the 2029–2030 timeframe. Ward 7 residents should not have to wait that long to see meaningful progress.
We have a plan. Now let’s get it done.

The breakwall and shoreline protection must come first.
As your Ward 7 Councillor, I will make securing the funding for this work a priority and bring together the City, provincial and federal governments, the Windsor Port Authority, tourism partners, businesses, community organizations and private-sector partners.
I will pursue every reasonable funding source, including municipal funding, tourism infrastructure funds, government grants, sponsorships, donations and partnerships.

The fencing is there for safety, but it cannot become the permanent solution.
Once the shoreline is protected and the area is made safe, unnecessary fencing should be removed and public access restored.
Residents deserve a clear timeline showing:
What the shoreline work will cost
What funding has been secured
When construction will begin
When the fences can come down

The opportunity is bigger than simply recreating the old beach.
My vision is a waterfront destination families can enjoy whether they enter the water or not, including:
Accessible playground and splash pad
Improved accessible kayak launch
Fishing pier and observation lookout
Waterfront seating and picnic areas, chess tables, ping pong
Beautiful gardens and landscaping
Improved washrooms, lighting and safety features
Food-truck and local-vendor opportunities
Attractive spaces for weddings, graduation and family photos
Community gathering and event spaces
Finding the Money
A Master Plan does not move forward without funding.
I have experience bringing businesses, governments, sponsors, donors and community organizations together to make projects happen.
I will pursue a combination of City funding, Municipal Accommodation Tax funding where eligible, provincial and federal grants, sponsorships, donations and private partnerships.
Every outside dollar secured helps move the project forward while reducing the burden on Windsor taxpayers.
No More Waiting
Ward 7 residents should not have to accept fencing and uncertainty as the long-term future of Sand Point.
Build the breakwall.
Take down the fences.
Rebuild the park.
I know how to bring the right partners to the table, pursue the funding and push this project from plan to action. My experience is different from simply having held elected office – it’s the type of experience that can get things done.
