Long-Term Care Facility
Proposal at Seneca Park

I Have Listened — And My Position Is Clear.

Over the past several weeks, I have spent time speaking directly with residents in Forest Glade, particularly those living in the Seneca Park and Wildwood area, about the proposed long-term care development.

I also attended the community meeting at Forest Glade Community Centre and listened carefully to the concerns residents raised.

I want to be very clear about where I stand.

I support the need for more long-term care beds in Windsor. I do not support this development as it is currently proposed for this location.

The proposed size and scale of the building — including a five-storey portion — is not appropriate for this established residential neighbourhood.

Long-term care is important to our community. But supporting long-term care does not mean that residents should simply accept any proposal, in any location, regardless of its impact on the surrounding neighbourhood.

There are legitimate concerns that must be addressed, including:

  • The height, size and density of the proposed development

  • Increased traffic and congestion on Wildwood and surrounding streets

  • The capacity of existing neighbourhood infrastructure

  • How a development of this scale fits within an established residential community

Residents Must Be Part of the Decision

Community consultation cannot simply be a box that gets checked after decisions have already been made. Residents deserve meaningful input before a development of this magnitude moves forward.

As your Ward 7 councillor, I will expect developers and City Administration to demonstrate that residents' concerns have been heard and addressed before asking Council to approve significant changes to a neighbourhood.

As this proposal is currently presented, I would not support it.

I am prepared to work with the City, the developer and the community to explore alternatives that provide much-needed long-term care while respecting the character and needs of the surrounding neighbourhood.

My Commitment to Ward 7

Ward 7 residents deserve a councillor who will listen, speak up and represent their concerns at City Hall.

I respect you. I have listened. And I will have your back.

That is the representation I will bring to Ward 7.
