Infrastructure That Keeps Up With Growth

Ward 7 is growing. Growth can be positive — but it must be responsible, well planned and supported by the infrastructure our neighbourhoods need well into the future.

I will work to ensure that new development respects the look, feel and character of Ward 7 and that residents have a strong voice in the planning and approval process.

Before major development moves forward, we need to know that the surrounding infrastructure can support it.

That means asking the right questions before approval — not after problems appear.

  • I will push to ensure development decisions properly consider:

    • Road capacity and traffic volumes

    • Sewer and storm water capacity

    • Drainage

    • Water and utility infrastructure

    • Sidewalks and pedestrian connections

    • Public transit access and availability

    • Parks and recreational amenities

    • Emergency service access and egress

    • The cumulative impact of multiple developments in the same area

    Development cannot continue to outpace the infrastructure required to support it.

    Growth should contribute to stronger neighbourhoods — not create additional problems for existing residents.

  • Ward 7 includes established neighbourhoods as well as developing areas.

    New development should fit appropriately within the surrounding community.

    I will advocate for a planning and approval process that considers:

    • Appropriate density

    • Building height and design

    • Traffic entering established neighbourhoods

    • Adequate parking

    • Green space and landscaping

    • Buffers between different types of development

    • The impact on neighbouring homes and businesses

    Residents deserve meaningful input when development could significantly change their neighbourhood.

  • In 2026 alone, only $790,000 of Windsor’s $36.6-million local road rehabilitation program is being spent in Ward 7.

    For a Ward experiencing significant growth and increasing pressure on roads, traffic and infrastructure, that is not good enough.

    I will fight to ensure Ward 7 receives a fair and equitable share of City infrastructure funding and that our needs are properly represented during budget and capital planning discussions.

    Ward 7 residents pay their fair share in taxes. Ward 7 should receive its fair share in investment.

    I will fight to ensure Ward 7 receives a fair and equitable share of City funding compared with other wards.

    That means:

    • Making the case for Ward 7 projects during budget deliberations

    • Challenging allocations that do not reflect our growth and infrastructure needs

    • Ensuring approved projects are properly funded

    • Tracking Ward 7 capital investments and reporting back to residents

    • Making sure our tax dollars are reinvested in the neighbourhoods that need them

My Commitment

I support responsible growth.

But development must come with the roads, sewers, drainage, sidewalks, traffic management and community infrastructure required to support it.

Plan first. Build the infrastructure. Protect our neighbourhoods. Fight for our fair share.

Infrastructure that keeps pace with growth means safer streets, stronger neighbourhoods and a fair return on the taxes Ward 7 residents pay.
